Gingerbread House

We decided to tackle a gingerbread house today since it was cold. I think this is my first and Nana thought that it was her first gingerbread house to put together as well. Growing up, we had a neighbour who used to do them every year--they were fantastic!
We had icing everywhere, the sides and the roof were hard to make stay in one place without succumbing to gravity and drooping. But finally we got it to work..then came the decorating bit. Nicholas wanted to do the roof, so we covered it in frosting and let him go for it:

We had a bug-eyed gingerbread man and snowman and thought the drooping frosting off the roof looked like ice...

Wow - that looks fantastic! Can you share the frosting recipe? We made gingerbread cookies for the last day of school, but used bought icing to decorate - I'd much rather make our own!
