Tonight we went to our first Christingle Service at church which is also the family Christmas eve service (apologies for the blurry photo). The kids receive a Christingle which is made up of: An orange representing the world, a red ribbon symbolises the Blood of Christ, four cocktail sticks with sweets and fruit to illustrate God's gifts and the four seasons and the candle, representing Jesus. Through the Christingle it raises money for disadvantaged children. Nicholas has been under the weather the last 4 days and actually fell asleep during the story, but we all enjoyed it..especially when all the candles were lit and they turned down the lights to sing carols....
